Absolutely loved the art and sound. It has its own style both in 2d and 3d and that goes a long way. The WASD controls feel nice, including the rollerblades, although they do feel a bit slippery at times. I love the concept of an ammo delivery guy!
It seems like there's a bit of content I'm not getting after a few tries. I didn't see a thug or anything, just Boomguy. The controls also didn't lock my cursor a few of the times I reloaded, so I couldn't really turn or pick things up.
I think all-in-all, there are clear paths to turn this into a commercial game if you wanted.
Glad you like the aesthetics of it! A lot of things are broken in this release trying to get it in under the wire for the Collab Jam, sadly. We're working on it to try and get a revised release that's a bit more finished and satisfying now that the Jam's voting is over.
I like the gritty aesthetic and the beginning sequence. Everyone hates their hustle jobs fr.
I also like that, upon launching, game immedetely goes to a full screen.
Something that was kinda funny, You can pick up people! I first picked up the thug and tried to throw him over a wall (invisible wall above wall sadg) but then after I delievered the ammo to boomguy, I picked him up and carried him to the thug and he started firing at the thug while i was holding him so I had a personal gaurd to protect me. It was funny but the movements were a bit confusing? and when you switch to 3rd person you are just a black box lol.
Anyways, good job to AmberMechanic and Morgan on the aesthetics portion/art which I thought were cool. Aesthetics reminded me a bit of games like How Fish is Made or White Knuckles which have really interesting atmospheres. I also like the 2.5D look.
thanks, picking up things you shouldn't is always fun! at one point i tried to pick up boomguy and jump on him to move up but couldn't manage it. and yea web seems to have some issues with what we're doing, plus we had issues especially at the end with the billboards.
on the confusing movement, was it that the rollerblading would keep your momentum when it shouldn't? that was an issue i never had time to try to fix once we got down to the end of things.
Im not sure if this was a web issue but, first attempt at playing I had an issue where I could not turn the camera. Pressing Q made me think I could only change directions with this button. When I reload I was able to move the camera but it seemed to me, and maybe this is just me, that the only movement control that really works when rollerblading is W and you use the camera for directions? I mean, accurate if true lol
Just wanted to share my experience even if it is just me the player being goofy as opposed to actual issues.
im not sure what happened with the camera for you and someone else, but clicking with any mouse button should grab the mouse and give full movement of the camera.
and rollerblading does take full wasd into account but the faster you go the slower you change direction, except when in the air. so when rollerblading if you need to change direction quickly, first jump and turn in the air.
Cool game, I loved the movement mechanics! I'm not sure if I'm playing incorrectly but after I delivered the ammo to the first Boomguy, it didn't seem to want to give me more missions. Hoping I just missed something becasue I'd love to keep playing.
yeah we had some issues getting that working at the end. godot kept messing up one of the scripts and im not sure why or if that was even the cause.
here's a reply i left on the submission page with more info.
i plan to make more builds (see second page linked at bottom of description) while voting is going on and after (i would like to continue this on post-jam in a larger world too), so hopefully that's something we can get fixed and up in a new build, even if that shouldn't be taken into account on voting, hopefully it could be there for more fun.
